Beached in the Park!
Friday 11-11.45, 1.30-2.15 and 3-3.45pm
Strangeface will be performing their own table top show about Arnold – a small puppet whose walk becomes an adventure. Played for 6 audience members at a time this tiny tale takes 10 minutes and uses headphones like a Silent Disco!  This show was made for Family Arts Festival and is suitable for all. Audience Members said  “I want to see it again!!!”, “Superb Imagination” and “Excellent!” – you can come along to watch without booking, the performers will run shows during the advertised times and you can lie back on a lilo if you need to wait!
This project is made possible due to support from Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Heritage Lottery Fund and the Tunbridge Wells Puppetry Festival

Beached at the Canterbury Children’s Festival

photo credit Hope FitzgeraldOur lovely Arnold continues his adventures at The Marlowe Theatre  on Friday 2nd June – as a part of their great half term fun.

Beached is a tiny tale is all about Arnold whose morning walk takes him to an undersea world. The miniature “set” is a box with our trademark puppets performing just for you. A soundtrack is played on headphones for each audience member, creating a world to share round the table a bit like a mini theatrical silent disco.
There are 3 sessions of free shows:
11 – 11:45
13:30 – 14:15
16:00 – 16:45
You can have a closer look at the puppets after the show. We always encourage you to “have a go” and see how we bring our stories to life, talk about our inspirations and perhaps even give you ideas to fill the last weekend of half term making a piece of table top theatre of your own?
Lyn Gardner of the Guardian chose Beached as her pick of a showcase and audiences said “Spellbinding and magical!” … “Go and see it!!!”… “Excellent. Long live the power of the imagination” …“I want to see it again now!” The beauty of this little piece is you can watch it again! From the outside too – there’s fun to be had working out what the people next to you are hearing…. One table, one puppet, one big adventure!
